Spiritual Formation

Spiritual formation is the process by which the Holy Spirit transforms a self-centered individual to a spirit-filled servant of God whose goal is to please God and serve others. In scripture, this process is known as sanctification. Colossians 3:9b-10 aptly describes this transformation process, “…since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”  It is the process of becoming like Christ for the sake of others.

An artist filled with the Spirit of God will minister through his or her relationship with God rather than through one’s talent. That is the goal of the spiritual formation component of ATAMI.

ATAMI promotes spiritual transformation by including a spiritual component in every one of its programs. Each session opens with a spiritual practice designed to help cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in the lives of participants no matter what their age level. In addition, we conduct the following activities for artists and others interested in deepening their relationship with the Lord:

  • Small group meetings
  • Book clubs
  • Writers group
  • Spiritual retreats
  • Spiritual formation curriculum
